This free-flowing workshop is a playful introduction to watercolours. Learn the basics, become confident with your brush and enjoy the soothing energy that comes with painting. We’ll warm up with a moment of relaxing breathing, a handful of short creative exercises and you’ll have plenty of time to get lost in the creative flow and find the outside world just melt away.
At the end of the session, you can take anything you’ve created with you, and I hope they inspire you to find your own moments of creativity at home.
This watercolour workshop is a mindful session, ideal for anyone who loves this idea of escaping for an afternoon, getting a chance to embrace their creative side. No painting experience necessary at all – I’ll help you connect with your inner creative (we all have one!).

I enjoyed that so much!
I didn’t want to leave, I could have stayed here for hours.
Me & my friend came away feeling very happy and inspired to start being creative at home.
I feel so calm and relaxed.
Your watercolour workshop host
Jodie launched her illustration business Sunshine for Breakfast 8 years ago and she’s been painting for over 20 years.
Jodie’s first trusty watercolour palette was gifted to her by her Art Teacher at school and it’s still a staple in her creative toolkit today. She learned her watercolour techniques through playing, practicing and playing some more – so that’s how she enjoys teaching others too.
Jodie’s also the founder of Bristol Pop-Up Shop and mentors small businesses in strategy and business planning. She lives in Bristol with her husband and 2 year old son and works from a cute studio space in Old Market.
Your watercolour workshop venue in Bristol
To The Moon is a cosy little bar hiding in Old Market, brimming with creativity, love and local vibes.
The workshop space is adjacent to the main bar, so we’ll have a cosy nook to get painting in, with some gentle easy-listening music in the background.
Due to the nature of the old building, the space is unfortunately not fully accessible.
The main entrance is at ground level, though there are a few steps into the workshop space, where there is not enough space for a ramp at the necessary gradient. The toilets are unfortunately not accessible, though there is possibility to arrange access to an adjacent business if needed – please contact me in advance if you have any questions.
